Samuel Frimpong-Manso

Mr. Samuel Frimpong-Manso is the Deputy Auditor-General (DAG) in charge of the Performance and Special Audit Department (PSAD) of the Audit Service.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Frimpong-Manso served several key positions within the Audit Service, including Assistant Auditor-General, Director of Audit, Assistant Director of Audit, and Principal Auditor. His professional career covers the Educational Institutions and District Assemblies Department – Southern Zone (EIDA-SZ), District Assemblies Department (DAD), and others, following his entry into the Audit Service in March 2008.

Mr. Frimpong-Manso has led numerous local and international audit assignments. His local audit experience includes District Wide Assistance Programme (DWAP) audits, Due Diligence Audits, Local Government Capacity Support Programme audits, USAID-funded audits, and other specialised assignments. Internationally, he has led audit teams to Ghana Missions abroad, including Algiers (Algeria, 2009), Havana (Cuba, 2015), Tokyo (Japan, 2019), and Berlin (Germany, 2024).

He is an experienced facilitator and resource person, having supported capacity-building programmes for Audit Service staff and other institutions such as the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Private Enterprise Federation (PEF), Centre for Local Governance Advocacy (CLGA), Development Partners, as well as Directors and Chief Executives of MDAs and MMDAs. He has also facilitated training programmes for public sector auditors in Sierra Leone.

Between 2010 and 2025, Mr. Frimpong-Manso represented the Audit Service at the Technical Working Group (TWG) level on the District Development Facility (DDF) and the District Assemblies Common Fund – Responsiveness Factor Grant (DACF-RFG), contributing to policy and accountability frameworks for local governance financing.

Professionally, Mr. Frimpong-Manso is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), UK. He is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana (CITG). His academic background includes a BA (Hons) in Religions and Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon (1998) and an MBA (Finance) from Wisconsin International University College, Legon (2010).

In October 2025, he authored and launched a book titled “Basic and Practical Knowledge in Public Sector Auditing”, contributing to professional literature and capacity development in the public audit space.

Mr. Frimpong-Manso enjoys reading and listening to radio discussions, reflecting his interest in continuous learning and public discourse.
