Mr. Lawrence Ndaago Ayagiba was appointed Deputy Auditor-General in charge of the Performance and Special Audits Department (PSAD) on 2 October 2020. Until his promotion, he was the Assistant Auditor-General for PSAD for close to 12 years.
He has acquired vast experience in performance audit including being awarded a fellowship by the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation (CCAF-FCAR) in 2010. His achievements include an award in 2009 by the Swedish National Audit Office prize for “Best Performance Audit report for 2008” in the AFROSAI-E region.
Mr. Ayagiba is a performance audit trainer and a Quality Assurance Reviewer in the English-speaking African Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) region. He led a team to develop a manual for performance audit on Infrastructure for the Audit Service.
He has undertaken several special audit assignments including performance audit for International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
‘Uncle’ Lawrence as he is affectionately called by many is an associate of the Ghana Institute of Architects. He holds an MSC in Architecture from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon.
