Madam Elizabeth Botchey was promoted to the office of a Deputy Auditor-General in charge of EIDA- Northern Sector in 2023 after being with the Service for 32years working selflessly across the different units of the Service and gained rich experience for the Service, both locally and internationally.
Auntie Lizzie affectionately called by her colleagues and subordinates in the Service, was employed in 1991 as an Examiner of Accounts and initially posted to the Ministry of Education, Accra. She further through her dint of hard work rose through the ranks whiles working at other branches of the Service including Ministry Treasury Branch and the Direct Audit branch, until in 2016 when she was promoted to the managerial rank as a Director of Audit.
Madam Lizzie started her education at Konongo-Odumasi Secondary school, further studied at Kumasi Polytechnic and in the 2013, she completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast and was admitted as a Chartered Accountant by the Institute of Chartered Accountancy in 2013, after completing in the same year.
As part of her training and steady rise, Madam Lizzie was selected to take part in several special assignments, an evidence of her hardworking nature, exposing her to audit missions of several countries including Algeria, South Africa, Rome and Brussels amongst others on behalf of the Auditor-General
Locally, Madam Lizzie’s attention to detail won the admiration of many including her teammates and made several recoveries into the consolidated fund, worth GH¢625,000, GH¢397,181, GH¢106,167.58 and other similar recoveries.
Madam Lizzie is conscientious about work and work ethics but yet still finds time out of the busy family and work schedules to sing and enjoy movies, which are her favorite pastime. Her hard work and excellent skill for detail earned her the current promotion to the highest office of Deputy Auditor-General in 2023.
