Audit Service Equips Staff to Conduct Audits on USAID Grants

The Audit Service in collaboration with USAID is organizing a two-day orientation workshop for some selected staff of the Service on USAID Financial Audit Methodology. The workshop which spans from 1 - 2 November, 2018 seeks to equip staff with the essential areas for conducting audits on USAID grants.


Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Deputy Auditor-General (DAG), Mrs Roberta Assiamah-Appiah said the responsibilities of auditing is moving towards risk management , performance and compliance issues. In this regard, she reiterated the Auditor-General considers essential the need to equip staff with new skills and methodologies to equip their capacity.


The Audit Service is therefore proud to be partnering with USAID with the collective efforts of improving staff capacity to undertake financial audits and provide modern training support for the refurbishment of the Audit Service’s Training Centre.


The Service had successfully participated in two audits on USAID grants. Mrs Assiamah-Appiah assured USAID that the Service would improve on its previous performance with this third opportunity. She also expressed the Service’s gratitude to USAID Ghana Mission Office for their support.


Present at the opening were the Auditor-General, Mr Daniel Yaw Domelevo, the DAG for Educational Institutional District Assemblies, Mr Blessed Baffor-Attah and representatives from USAID Ghana Mission.
