PAC Members debriefed on 2023 Auditor-General's reports

A workshop has been held to debrief members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the reports of the Auditor-General (A-G), for the financial year ended December 31, 2023, submitted to Parliament on June 28, 2024, in accordance with Article 187 (5) of the 1992 Constitution.

The workshop’s aim was to assist PAC members in properly examining the reports during public hearings.

The A-G Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, commended the staff of the Audit Service and PAC members for their collaborative efforts, resulting in significant recoveries and reduced infractions.

The A-G announced plans to consolidate reports on public universities, technical universities, and colleges of education into a single report, streamlining the reporting process and enhancing efficiency.

The Deputy Auditor-General in charge of Central Government Audits Department, Mr. Mohammed Zakaria Ali, praised the PAC for their continuous partnership and support, acknowledging progress in examining previous reports speedily.

PAC Chairman, Hon. James Avedzi, provided feedback on past public hearings, suggesting that resolved issues be incorporated into future reports.
