As part of activities marking Pink October as a Wellness Month, the Service, organised a breast cancer awareness talk, screening exercise alongside a clean-up exercise at the Head Office and all Regional Offices concurrently
The breast cancer awareness talk and screening exercise was organised in partnership with The Trust Hospital at the Head Office and other health facilities across the various regional offices, were engaged to educate staff on the importance of breast health and early detection. The sessions highlighted the need for regular screening, awareness of possible warning signs and when to seek prompt medical attention.
A notable highlight of the exercise was the participation of male staff in the screening, reinforcing the fact that although breast cancer is more common among women, men can also develop the disease and should pay attention to unusual changes in their breast tissue and seek medical attention when necessary.
In addition to the health awareness and screening exercise, staff across the Head Office and Regional Offices participated in a simultaneous clean-up exercise to promote environmental cleanliness and workplace hygiene.
The clean-up exercise involved general cleaning and the tidying of office surroundings .The activity was aimed at promoting a clean, safe and healthy working environment.
The Ghana Audit Service acknowledges Management’s commitment and initiative in dedicating the month of October to staff wellness through the Pink October campaign. The two activities demonstrate the Service’s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare, environmental responsibility and the general well-being of its workforce.
Through these initiatives, the Service continues to encourage staff to prioritise their health, embrace healthy practices and take collective responsibility for creating a healthier workplace.
