The Ghana Audit Service held a Staff Durbar on 22nd July 2026 at the Osu Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. The event brought together; Board members, retired staff, Management and staff from all regions across the service, who joined virtually to be formally introduced to the newly appointed Auditor-General, Dr. Pamela A. Graham, being the first woman to hold the constitutional office of Auditor-General in Ghana since 1951, deliver her address to the staff for the first time.
In discussing matters regarding our audit work and future direction of the institution, Dr. Graham, in her speech, encouraged staff to uphold the core values of independence, professionalism, integrity, accountability, ethical conduct, teamwork, and excellence in the discharge of their duties.
She also shared her vison for the Service and staff stating amongst others, that shall be a re-alignment of our organogram consolidating our North and South sector into one stand-alone department for EIDA (Educational institutional Audit Department) and a Local Government Audit Department. The I.T function will also be decentralized so that quality I.T personnel are based directly in key regions rather than concentrated only at the headquarters.
Dr. Graham further stated that regional auditors will be supported by dedicated administrators to help carry out the operational demands already placed on them. And finally, there will be a re-alignment of the Deputy Auditor-General roles along with transfers and rotations which will be communicated soon.
The staff durbar concluded with Deputy Auditor-General, Mr. George Swanzy Winful responding to survey questionnaires administered prior to the durbar, to help identify staff concerns. In an interactive session, staff had the opportunity to further engage with management, both virtually and in person, asked questions, and discussed issues affecting the Service. The durbar was moderated by Ms. Alberta Owoo and Mrs. Ama Awotwe-Bosumafi both with the Public Relations Unit.
