The Auditor-General (A-G), Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo has been awarded as the Ghana Public Service Leader for the year 2019 in recognition of his exemplary leadership and achievements in Public Service. This award ceremony took place at the Ghana Leadership Awards, 2019.

The Ghana Leadership Awards is an annual event convened to recognise and celebrate outstanding and exemplary leadership that impacts the development of Ghana and Africa in the areas of business, government, academia, philanthropy, media, chieftaincy and celebrity, among others. The 7th Ghana Leadership Awards was under the theme: ‘Leadership: Future of the Ghanaian and the African Youth’.

The A-G was inducted into the Ghana Leadership Hall of Fame at the awards ceremony and presented with a certificate, a medal, and decorated with a sash designed in the country’s national colours. He was also adjudged the Public Servant of the year 2019 for his zero tolerance for corruption.

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Leadership Awards, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Y. Nash, noted that one of the core objectives of the Ghana Leadership Awards is to inspire hard-work, discipline, transparency, commitment to duty and motivation among leaders at all levels in the country. He said that “leadership defines everything in society hence the need to recognise those who are excelling”. To him, acknowledging these personalities would inspire others to emulate their good works.
