Ghana has been unanimously elected to host the 17th governing board meeting of the English Speaking African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E). The 26 member association elected Ghana during the 16th governing board meeting in Maputo, Mozambique.
The Auditor-General (A-G) of Ghana, Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo, disclosed this when he inaugurated a six member Local Organization Committee (LOC) to oversee the planning of the week-long event.
According to the A-G, the LOC is tasked to liaise with the AFROSAI-E Events Manager to organize a successful event in Accra in May 2020. They are also to ensure effective protocol for participating countries made up of 24 English- and two Portuguese- speaking countries.
In all, about 100 persons from the member countries are expected to attend the event.
The Acting Assistant Auditor-General in charge of Finance, Mr. Alexander Koomson, is Chairman of the LOC.
