PAC begins public sittings in Tamale

PAC begins public sittings in Tamale

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has began zonal public hearings in Tamale in the Northern Region to discuss the Auditor-General’s (AG) Reports. The Committee will consider two Audit Reports for its maiden zonal sitting and has invited public institutions cited in these reports to appear before the Committee during the public hearings.

Opening the week-long hearings, the Chairman of the PAC, Mr. James K. Avedzi said that the PAC hearings seek to bring accountability closer to the citizenry. He urged public institutions to support the work of the A-G and the PAC to improve the lot of the country.

On his part, the AG, Mr. Daniel Y. Domelevo, appealed to public institutions to see auditors as partners who are providing strategic support to the institutions to maximise the use of public resources in the most prudent manner.
