He holds the Final Certificate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Certificate in Industrial Relations from the International Institute of Cooperation and Labour Studies in Tel Aviv, Israel and a Diploma in Labour Studies from the George Meany Centre, University of Maryland, USA. He also holds a Certificate in Small Enterprise Development from Rotterdam University in the Netherlands.
He worked as an Accounting Officer with the Ghana Education Service for twenty-two years.
He left the Public Service when he was the Deputy Chief Accountant at the Headquarters of the Ghana Education Service to become a full-time Trade Unionist.
He was a member of the Consultative Assembly which prepared the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and served for two terms as a member of the National Labour Commission.
In 1992, he was elected for two terms as Deputy Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (Ghana).
Thereafter, he was appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Enterprises Trust Company Ltd, which was established by the Trades Union Congress (Ghana) from where he finally retired from active service.
He was the first Board Chairman of Unique Insurance Company Ltd. and a member of the first Board of Directors of Standard Trust Bank (Ghana) Ltd, now UBA.
He also served on the following Boards both in the Public and Private Sectors: Non- Performing Assets Recovery Trust, Ghana Free Zones Board, Ghana Industrial and Commercial Estates Ltd., and Dan Adams Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of City Car Parks Ltd. and the Board of Blue Fish Company Ltd.
