The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament would from Tuesday, 23^rd to Friday 26^th June, 2020 hold public hearings on the Auditor-General’s Report on activities of state institutions for the year 2017/2018.

The Committee would deliberate on the following reports which the Auditor-General presented to the Speaker to be laid before the House:

1. Report of the Auditor-General on the Management and Utilisation of Petroleum Funds for the Period Ended 31st December, 2017.
2. Report Of The Auditor-General On The Statement Of Foreign Exchange Receipts And Payments Of The Bank Of Ghana For The Year Ended 31 December 2017;
3. Report Of The Auditor-General On The Statement Of Foreign Exchange Receipts And Payments Of The Bank Of Ghana For The Year Ended 31 December 2018;
4. Report Of The Auditor-General On The Consolidated Annual Accounts Of Government For The Financial Year Ended 31 December 2017; and
5. Report Of The Auditor-General On The Public Accounts (Central Government) For The Financial Year Ended 31 December 2018.

The heads or representatives of the Bank of Ghana, Controller and Accountant’s General Department and the Ministry of Finance have been invited to appear before the Committee during the public hearings.

Equally, the Auditor-General, Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo and his team of auditors would be in attendance to assist the Committee in its deliberations.

Article 187(6) charges Parliament to “debate the Report of the Auditor-General and appoint where necessary, in the public interest, a committee to deal with any matters arising from it”. Parliament’s Standing Order 165 (2) has therefore assigned the PAC to examine the audited accounts of government showing sums granted by Parliament to meet public expenditure and of such other accounts laid before Parliament.
